Depression (tears) and anxiety (fears) are the most common reasons for seeking therapy. These are the emotions that you most often want to push away, because they feel so painful and raw. You can, however, learn to view these feelings as messages from your mind and body telling you that there is something inside of you that needs attention. Depression and anxiety often result from unresolved issues--often going back to your childhood. If you let past hurts and anger go underground, they grow stronger, and you feel them as emotional and physical sadness, fear, and pain. In actuality, when you avoid or deny your childhood issues, you actually increase the pain and confusion. I can help you see depression and anxiety as wake-up calls telling you that it's time to stop running, look inside yourself, increase your self-awareness, and become your authentic self--the self you want to be.
